Consent Policy

This Consent Policy explains how PlanDXB obtains, manages, and respects your consent for data processing, communications, and third-party services.

1. Data Processing Consent

By registering on PlanDXB, you consent to the processing of your data for the following purposes:

  • Account creation and OTP-based phone verification
  • Roster management: tracking who is registered for which matches and the order of the roster
  • Recording attendance, cancellations, and any resulting penalties
  • Producing anonymous aggregate analytics (fill rates, attendance trends) used to plan future sessions

2. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Our web pages (this site) use only the minimum cookies needed to function:

  • Essential cookies: language/locale preference (en/ar) and theme selection. These cannot be disabled because the site needs them to render correctly
  • We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies
  • The mobile app does not use web cookies; authentication is handled with device-local secure storage

3. Communication Preferences

We communicate with you through the following channels:

  • Push notifications: enabled during onboarding for match confirmations, reminders, cancellations, and penalty notices. You can disable them in your device settings at any time
  • SMS: used only for OTP verification during sign-in. This is required for account security and cannot be opted out of
  • Email: used by admins for occasional community-wide announcements. You may opt out of non-essential emails

4. Photo & Video Consent

During onboarding you can choose whether photos or videos taken at community sessions may be used by the organisers for community channels (e.g. Instagram). You can change this preference in your profile at any time.

5. Third-Party Service Consent

By using PlanDXB, you consent to the sharing of necessary data with the following third-party services:

  • Twilio: for delivering SMS OTP codes to your registered phone number
  • Cloudflare R2: for secure storage and retrieval of profile pictures
  • Expo: for delivering push notifications to your device

6. Withdrawing Consent

You may withdraw consent for non-essential data processing at any time by disabling push notifications from your device settings or contacting privacy@plandxb.ae. Withdrawing consent for essential processing (account, OTP verification) requires account deletion.
